Journey to College – Career Counselling Event at Delhi23-Jul-2023

On 23rd July 2023, 16 students from grades X to XII attended a seminar hosted by Red Pen at Pullman, Aerocity, New Delhi. For grade XII students in particular, the event served as a wake-up call because they will soon start submitting early applications to universities. Three fundamental ideas—data, voice, and talent—as well as the idea that a person's passion can be discovered by combining them—were introduced to the students. All the participants were exposed to two panels of students from well-known universities including Yale and Cambridge. They taught the participants how to tie clear knots between their extracurricular activities, academics, and holistic development. Students understood that rather than just listing their accomplishments in their admission essays they must describe their passions and the initiatives they undertook to explain their path of self-discovery and how it helped mould them into a resilient and well-rounded person. The panellists apprised the students on how to handle work and succeed in interviews. Additionally, they learnt about university life, academic rigour, etc. The seminar broadened children’s perspective, equipped them with indispensable knowledge to navigate the challenges that lie ahead as they apply for higher studies in renowned universities
