A Visit to FRI, Dehradun20-Oct-2019

On Sunday, 20th October, 2019, a group of forty-six girls from Unison World School, visited the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. The students visited five sections of the Museums. In the Silviculture Museum, they saw various types of pests. Products like medicines, wood products, gum, essential oils, ink and various other objects were seen in the Non Wood Forest Products Museum. In the Forest Pathology Museum, they learnt how trees get destroyed by different diseases. The Timber Museum showcased different kinds of timber products from the forests. They also saw a 704 year old section of a pine tree trunk. Numerous insects were displayed in the Entomology Museum. Students were delighted to observe such a wonderful place with long walkways, lush green lawns and beautiful trees.
