Annual Prize Distribution Function 202119-Oct-2021

Unison World School celebrated Annual Prize Distribution Function 2021 from 18th October 2021 to 19th October 2021. The two-day celebration encompassed felicitation of the achievement holders in Academics and Co-curricular Activities along with a plethora of events. Participation in the various events enabled the students to unearth their capabilities in the field of fine arts, performing arts and sports. On 18th October 2021 Annual Sports Meet ‘Spardha 2021’ was organized. The Chief Guest for the day was Gp. Capt. Deepak Ahluwalia VSM. Prior to the commencement of ‘Spardha 2021’ the students had an enriching session with Ms. Savita Kanswal, who has scaled Mt. Lhotse and Ms. Ameesha Chauhan, who has scaled Mt Everest. The event began with the march past by the prefectorial body and the house contingents. This was followed by the torch relay and oath taking ceremony after the meet was declared open. The Chief Guest and the other dignitaries gave away the prizes and trophies to the winners of the athletic meet. The Best Athlete in the Sub-Junior, Junior and the Senior Category were Bhuja Vacchani, Reni Shah and Nidha Ashraf respectively. Tulip House was declared the overall winner as it bagged the trophies for Best Display in Athletics, March Past and Sports Cock House Trophy. ‘Spardha 2021’ was followed by Hindi Nukkad Natak and Fete. The Nukkad Natak; ‘Kavi Kanchan Kitchen Mei’ presented by grade 11 students left the audience in splits. In the fete students had a memorable time as they relished varied kind of savories. The daylong celebration culminated with virtual Alumni Meet. The alumni students shared their experiences at Unison and expressed their gratitude to their mentors and the organization for making them versatile to face on the challenges of life. On 19th October 2021 the day started with virtual orientation programme for the parents of classes VIII to X on career-based choices and stream selection. The queries of the parents were satisfactorily resolved by the school career counsellor. After the orientation programme there was inauguration School Exhibition by Ms. Neelam and Mr. Ritesh Sood, parents of Head Girl Aadya Ritesh Sood. In the exhibition Uthenas displayed sculptures, artifacts and paintings made by them in various disciplines. The greatest attraction was the puppet show featuring sock puppet and shadow theatre box. Students of Art and Music brought out the journal ‘Insperia’. The exhibition was followed by the gala Annual Prize Distribution Function in the evening. Padma Shri Dr. Yogi Aeron, eminent plastic surgeon, environmentalist and a philanthropist graced the occasion with his presence. The function began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The school Annual Report highlighting the achievements of the students for the year 2020-2021 was presented by the Principal Ms. Divya Dwivedi. The cultural show ‘Evolution of Music’ was an odyssey into the various genres of music and dance. The students gave a spectacular performance on Indian classical, folk and western dance. The audience enjoyed the rock band’s performance and was awestruck by the musical orchestra presented by the students. The glow dance by the young Athenas left everyone astounded. This was followed by prize distribution where the winners were given awards by the Chief Guest to mark their achievements in various disciplines. The award ‘Excellence in Helpfulness’ was bagged by Nandini Gattani, Proficiency Cup Lower School was clinched by Shreya Aggrawal, Proficiency Cup Upper School was won by Sneha Lohia, Proficiency Cup Senior School was awarded to Ruchhika Agarwal, Proficiency Cup International Curriculum (CAIE) was won by Aadya Ritesh Sood, Best Sports Person was clinched by Nidha Ashraf, Student of the Year 2020-21 was awarded to Sinjini Bhattacharjee, and the Cock House Trophy was bagged by Tulip House. Thereafter, the school magazine Quintessence was inaugurated by the chief guest. The Chief Guest appreciated the performances of the students. He told the students to acknowledge the efforts of the school management and their parents in providing them the best education and nurturing them in every aspect. In his message he advised them to never compromise when faced with challenges. The two-day celebration concluded with the presentation of memento to the esteemed Chief Guest by the Principal and the vote of thanks proposed by the School Head Girl, Aadya Ritesh Sood.
